Capital 4 Impact Foundation (C4IF) has been established as a commercial foundation with a charitable purpose subject to the Danish Act on Commercial Foundations, and with the Danish Business Authority as the supervisory authority.
Thus, C4IF is a standalone legal entity with its own Board and governance structure. The foundation operates through a unique hybrid framework that blends philanthropic donations with commercial capital. Donations from philanthropic organizations, aid agencies, NGOs, private foundations, and public institutions can be channelled through the foundation. At the same time, commercial capital is managed by C4IF’s subsidiary, Capital 4 Impact ApS (C4I), a fully owned registered Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM).
